About
Launceston Junior Social Basketball is for any players who would like to enter a team - It is not a requirement to be a part of a club to play. Any responsible adult can enter a team on behalf of junior players. No numbers required on uniforms

Costs
The BTAS Registration fee is due each year and is valid for 365 days of $35 (U10/U12/U14) or $60 (U16/18/Senior) and a Weekly Team Playing Fee is applicable
Weekly Team Playing Fee per match of $49.00, if on a bye no team fee is due
The Team Fee is payable prior to the game commencing using the phone application (iOS and Android) Teampay
Forfeit Policy
To minimise the impact from forfeits on opposing players, referees, and the organisation If a team is required to forfeit, they must provide notice prior to 12pm the day prior to their game.
If this notice period is not provided, a $49 charge will be applied to the team that has forfeited and payment will be required prior to the team taking the court the following week

Rules
A responsible adult must be present at all times during games for each team
Normal five players format. It is strongly recommended that teams register a minimum of seven players to ensure they always have a full team and able to meet its financial obligations
Individual fouls are not recorded but the seven (7) team foul rule applies
A five second in the key rule applies
Social Basketball Management reserves the right to impose further disqualifications for serious offences and there is no right of appeal
Each team has 2 x 30 second timeouts per game, clock does not stop and play resumes immediately at conclusion of 30 seconds. No timeouts are permitted in final 3 minutes of game
A Technical foul is an automatic send off (no replacement) and a one game suspension
Social Basketball reserves the right to refuse entry to teams or individuals
2×20 minute halves & 2 minutes half-time. Timing starts 2 minutes after the advised starting time
Playing Policies
Fingernail Policy: Nails must be cut or covered with tape or glove
Referees: One referee is appointed for each game and they are the official scorer. Enquiries from qualified Referees are welcome
Uniforms: A team uniform is encouraged. If a team does not have a uniform, it is recommended that players bring a light and dark top. Numbers are not required
Footwear: Non-marking sports shoes are essential
Fill-In Policy: A team must have four of its registered players to constitute a legal team to gain a result. Fill-ins can be used to assist a team but not in finals
Finals: Top two ladder positions in each division play a Grand Final. Should scores be level at full time in a Grand Final, the first team to score after the jump ball wins. To be eligible for finals, teams must be debt free and players must be registered and have played a minimum of five rostered games with the team
Points System
Point allocation for ladders:
Win/Bye = 3 pts
Draw = 1.5 pts
Loss = 1 pt
Forfeit = 0 pts
